Monitoring of Early Age Portland Cement Paste: Optical and RF Approach

چکیده
In this paper, we describe the monitoring of Portand cement paste, with a 0.50 water cement ratio (w/c), during early age period, recurring to optical and electrical techniques. The optical monitoring of the cement paste was realized with FBG temperature sensors, and the temperature variations during the early age period were characterized. The RF values of the cement paste and therefore predict the water content of the moisture.

Effect of Fine-Ground Ceramic Admixture on Early Age Properties of Cement Paste
Properties of cement pastes with fine-ground ceramics used as an alternative binder replacing Portland cement up to 20% of its mass are investigated. At first, the particle size distribution of cement and fine-ground ceramics is measured using laser analyser. Then, the material properties are studied in the early hardening period up to 28 days. The hydration process of studied materials is moni...

متن کاملINVESTIGATING THE LINEAR EXPANSION, SET, AND STRENGTH BEHAVIORS OF THE BINARY MIXTURE PORTLAND CEMENT CLINKER-GYPSUM
Abstract: The linear expansion, early-age compressive strength and setting times of the binary mixtures of gypsum and Portland cement clinkers of relatively low C3A-contents were investigated. For this reason, type 1, 2, and 5 of Portland cement-clinkers were selected and a number of binary mixtures were designed. At relatively lower percentages of gypsum (about 5%), the early strength behavior...

In this study, the early-age strain–stress development of mixtures containing slag cement was measured on uniaxially restrained specimens using a specially designed testing frame starting right after casting. It was found that thermal deformation dominates early-age stress development in low w/cm and low slag cement paste systems. While for concrete, autogenous shrinkage is the major contributi...
